YAI enjoys a rich history of supporting children and adults with disabilities. Starting with a small socialization program in Brooklyn for parents whose children were aging out of high school, YAI has grown into one of the largest and well-respected organizations in the nation. We were among the first to provide community-based group residences for individuals leaving the Willowbrook State School in the 1970s and today provide an array of supports to enhance the lives of thousands of people with disabilities and their families throughout the New York metropolitan area.
